We are in the process of selling one of our old houses on a contract sale. We reached a point in the
contract where more of the ownership has been transferred to the other party. As such our financial
interest in the house has gone down, but we still wanted to protect ourselves. So we were switched from a
more comprehensive “landlord’s” policy to a basic casualty policy which is saving as a lot, but we
still have coverage if something happens. One of the great things when we were looking was that we
noticed a big price difference between most carriers and Wadena Insurance. The difference worked out to
about $50/month and the coverage was nearly identical (even for the lower price we got a few things we
wouldn’t have gotten other places). The process went smoothly, but not overly fast. I can’t really
complain. It was quicker than some changes we’ve made, but not the fastest. Customer service was
positive, but not impressive. So, while I love the coverage and the transition wasn’t bad, I can’t
say it’s the greatest company I’ve ever worked with. Solid, but unspectacular, but then again it is
insurance.
