There are many banks that offer an automatic saving program, where a specific amount can be transferred automatically from your checking account into a saving account. You can always reverse, stop, or increase the auto transfer. You can talk to your bank to find out if they offer such programs and if so, find out how the program works, what the fees and costs may be.
The important thing about saving money, however, is creating a good budget and sticking to it. Take a look at all your monthly income and expenses and evaluate your spending. If you haven't done so already, it's also good to set up an emergency funds, usually 3 to 6 month worth of your income.
