You cannot activate a Walmart MoneyCard without a Social Security Number.
The only thing you could do is contact Walmart at the number on the back of your card and let them know you don't have a SSN. They will allow you to use the card as a gift card, and spend the money already loaded on it. You will not be able to reload the card.
I just called the customer number on the back of the card and they will not transfer the MoneyCard to a gift card. The rep said that the ONLY way to use the card is to provide a valid social security number. Without the original purchase receipt, nothing can be refunded to the original purchaser. Because this was received as a gift a few months ago, I'm sure that the receipt is long gone. I'm really unhappy with that solution and will encourage everyone I know to be VERY careful with how they buy what they think is a gift card for others to be sure that they aren't getting one of these! I was told multiple times by the customer service rep that I had to register the card with a SSN for it to be used - there wasn't any other solution. Buyer beware and stay away from these cards!
If they switch your card to gift card, can you use it online to join website or buy things from other businesses or just walmart?
