There are several reasons why you might have received a Pathward prepaid debit card in the mail. These include promotional enrollment, a tax refund, stimulus payment, or benefit payment routed through Pathward by the IRS or another government agency, unclaimed property, or an employer or gig‑work platform enrolling you in a payroll card by default.
If none of these reasons sound familiar, contact Pathward’s customer service at (605) 361-4347. Do not activate the card until you’re certain of its source to avoid potential fees or risks.
