How to Use Amazon Credit Card Points
- Log in to your Amazon.com account.
- Link an eligible credit card.
- Select “points balance” as the payment method at checkout.
You don’t need an Amazon-branded credit card to shop like this, though such a card will work, too. Other Chase credit cards, such as Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Sapphire Reserve, as well as select Citi ThankYou and Amex Membership Rewards cards also allow you to redeem credit card points on Amazon.com.
But it’s worth noting that in most cases, points are worth less than 1 cent apiece when redeemed for Amazon.com purchases.
Best Credit Cards to Earn Amazon Credit Card Points With
Amazon Prime members will earn 5% back on Amazon purchases made with either card.
The Amazon Visa card requires at least good credit for approval. For the store card, you’ll need a minimum of fair credit.
Other notable cards for earning and redeeming rewards on Amazon.com include cash back credit cards from Discover, such as the Discover it Cash Back and NHL Discover it cards, which sometimes have Amazon.com as a bonus rewards category.
