To report a lost American Express card, log in to your account on the American Express replacement card page and then select “Lost Card” as the reason why the card needs to be replaced. Click the blue “Continue” button, then answer your personal security question if prompted. Next, verify your shipping address and choose a shipping option – the best option is probably 1-day free shipping. Finally, click “Submit.”

After you report your card as lost, American Express will immediately stop it from being used for any more purchases. The replacement for your lost American Express card will come with a new card number, expiration date and security code. You’ll need to activate that card just like you did with your original one.
