To get the Amex Gold Shake Shack credit, sign up for the card’s dining credit benefit and then make a purchase at an eligible Shake Shack restaurant. The dining credit allots Amex Gold cardholders a total of $120 per year – up to $10 per month – toward purchases at Shake Shack and a number of other participating dining partners. The credit does not cover purchases at Shake Shack restaurants located in ballparks, stadiums, airports or racetracks.
To sign up for the Amex Gold Shake Shack benefit, log into your online account and select “Benefits” at the top of the page. From there, find the “$120 Dining Credit” benefit and click “Learn More” to advance to the enrollment page. Once enrolled, you’ll be directed to the dining credit page, which will have brief instructions on how the benefit works. You’ll also see a list of the other dining partners: Cheesecake Factory, Seamless, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Grubhub, and Boxed. You can enroll through the Amex mobile app, by a live chat with a customer service agent, or by calling customer service at 1 (800) 528-4800, too.
After you’re enrolled, when a qualifying Shake Shack purchase posts to your account, you’ll receive a statement credit of up to $10 a month within 2-4 weeks from the transaction date. The dining credit applies only to food purchases. Gift card and merchandise purchases are not eligible for the credit.
