The Amex Green Card bonus is 40,000 points for spending $2,000 in the first 6 months of account opening. Membership Rewards points vary in value, depending on how they’re redeemed. Redemption options include statement credits, travel, gift cards, and merchandise. The Amex Green card bonus is available only to new applicants.

You’ll receive Amex Green Card bonus points about 8 to 12 weeks after you’ve met the spend requirement. Membership Rewards points never expire as long as your account is open and in good standing. You will, however, forfeit any unredeemed points if you or Amex closes your account for any reason.
