To use the Amex Uber credit, add your eligible American Express card to your Uber account and then use the card to pay for Uber rides or orders from Uber Eats. Eligible cardholders will automatically receive monthly statement credits totaling up to $120 or $200 per year, depending on the card.
The American Express Uber credits post to the Uber app (for iOS or Android) or Uber Eats App (for iOS or Android) on the first day of each month. Unused credit expires at midnight on the last day of the month (HST) and will not roll over to the following month.
Key Things to Know About the Amex Uber Credit
- Eligible cards: The Platinum Card® from American Express, Centurion® Card from American Express, and Amex Gold card.
- How much you get: Up to $200 annually in statement credits (up to $15 per month, plus a $20 bonus in December) with the American Express Platinum card and the Centurion® Card from American Express. Amex Gold cardholders get up to $120 annually (up to $10 each month).
- What it applies to: Uber rides and Uber Eats orders in the U.S. You can also use your Amex Uber credit to shop through the Uber grocery delivery service. However, the grocery service is currently available only in a few U.S. cities, like Miami, Dallas, and New York.
- How to get it: Add your eligible American Express card as a payment method to your Uber account. You must add your card through the Uber App (for iOS or Android) or Uber Eats App (for iOS or Android).
- How to use it: Make sure you enable the "Uber Cash" function at the top of the app, and the credit will automatically be applied to the cost of your ride or order. When the Amex Uber credit isn't enough to cover the cost, the primary payment method on your account will be charged the difference.
- Expiration: Any unused credit will expire on the last day of each month and will not roll over to the following month.
