The best Barclaycard balance transfer offer right now is the RCI Elite Rewards card, issued by Barclays. It offers 0% for 15 months on balance transfers made within 45 days of account opening, and there’s no annual fee. The RCI Elite card does charge a balance transfer fee of 3% (min $5), however. But it gives some rewards on purchases to make up for it, including an initial bonus of 2,500 points.
If you want to transfer a balance to a Barclaycard but RCI rewards won’t benefit you much, you might opt for the Wyndham Rewards card instead. It has the same balance transfer offer of 0% for 15 months with a 3% (min $5) transfer fee. As you might expect, the ongoing rewards are hotel-centric, including 3 points per $1 spent on Wyndham hotels and other participating hotels. There’s no annual fee for this card, either.
For your transfer to be eligible for either of these cards’ balance transfer offers, it must post to your Barclays account within 45 days of account opening. So make sure to transfer the balance from your current credit card to your Barclaycard soon after you’re approved, or you’ll miss the 0% interest opportunity and have to face a high regular APR.
It’s worth noting that a handful of other Barclays co-branded credit cards have the same 15-month 0% APR deal for balance transfers, including the Carnival World card, the Lufthansa card, and the NFL Extra Points card. There aren’t any regular Barclays-branded cards that fit the bill right now, unfortunately.
