The best Visa credit card for poor credit is the Harley-Davidson Secured Visa because it has a $0 annual fee and gives 1 Harley-Davidson point per $1 spent on all purchases. It requires a $300 minimum refundable security deposit to open the account. This card is pretty much the only Visa card for poor credit that doesn’t charge an annual fee.
The OpenSky Secured Visa charges a $35 annual fee. But its special feature is that it doesn’t require a credit check to apply. So it has just about the highest approval odds on the market. It requires a $200 minimum security deposit. For people who prefer not to put down a security deposit, the Credit One Visa is a good choice. It gives 1% cash back on select purchases, which Credit One determines after you apply. The annual fee is $0 - $99.
Each of these cards reports info to the credit bureaus monthly. That gives you the opportunity to turn a bad credit score into a fair or even good score. There are lots more Visa credit cards for bad credit available, too. So no matter how bad your score is, you should be able to find a card. The key is to compare cards based on how much they charge in annual-, monthly- and one-time fees. If you don’t need a credit card for borrowing purposes, don’t rule out secured cards. The deposit you have to place is refundable, unlike fees.
