You can apply for the Blue Cash Preferred card online or over the phone at (800) 223-2670.

You will need to provide some personal information, such as your employer's information, your Social Security number, and your mailing address.

Keep in mind that a credit score of 700+ is required for Blue Cash Preferred. This means that you need at least good credit to get it. But apart from your credit score, the issuer will also take into account various other factors like your credit history, income and debts.

Having said that, it is also worth noting that you can see if you’re pre-qualified for an American Express card by using their online pre-qualification tool.

If for some reason an approval decision cannot be made immediately, you can check the status of your application online (even if you applied by phone).
