There is no Blue Cash Preferred annual fee for authorized users, as they are not responsible for credit card payments. Blue Cash Preferred charges an annual fee of $95 starting the second year your account is open, but credit card payments, including any fees and interest, are the sole responsibility of the primary accountholder.
Adding an authorized user to your credit card account can be a great way to meet spending requirements and supplement your ongoing spending rewards. Blue Cash Preferred offers $250 statement credit for spending $3,000 in the first 6 months. Plus, you earn 6% cash back at U.S. supermarkets (up to $6,000 spent per year), 6% back on select U.S. streaming subscriptions, 3% back at U.S. gas stations and on transit, and 1% back on all other purchases, earned as statement credits.
Even though authorized users receive full access to the account's credit line, they are not legally responsible for paying any balance or associated fees that result from their use. Only the primary accountholder receives the bill, regardless of who made the charges.
