How do I cancel Capital One Venture?

You can cancel a Capital One Venture card either online or by phone. To cancel online, log into your account and click the “I Want To …” link at the top of the page. From the account services menu, follow the instructions under “Close Account.” For cancellations over the phone, call customer service at 1 (800) 227-4825. When prompted, ask to speak to a customer service representative. He or she will guide you through the process.

Once you cancel your Capital One Venture card, your account is no longer active. Future transactions will be rejected, but any charges you made before you cancelled the card will still post. You won’t have to pay off an outstanding balance when you cancel, but you’ll need to make at least the minimum payment each month until the balance is paid off. You will also lose any unused reward miles, so make sure you redeem them before you cancel the card. You’re also responsible for stopping any recurring payments to your Venture card account.
