The Chase authorized user bonus is 2,500 bonus miles for adding your first authorized user to the Chase-issued United Explorer Card online. This bonus is reportedly available exclusively to people who have received a targeted offer from Chase by email. Eligible cardholders must enter the last 4 digits of their card number, as well as their MileagePlus account number, to get started.
Chase does not offer an authorized user bonus on any of its other credit cards currently, though there are anecdotal reports that Chase has offered such bonuses in the past. For example, Chase Freedom Unlimited used to offer a bonus of 2,500 points for adding an authorized user. Chase Sapphire Reserve previously offered 7,500 points, and the IHG Rewards Club Premier Card offered 5,000 points.
Keep in mind that even if you don’t get a bonus for adding an authorized user to your Chase credit card, an authorized user’s spending still counts toward earning a card’s initial bonus. And authorized users’ purchases will earn the same rewards rates as the primary cardholder’s purchases. Only the primary cardholder is able to redeem rewards earned by any user on the card, though.
