You cannot get the Chase Ink Business Preferred annual fee waived anymore. At one time, Chase waived Ink Preferred’s $95 annual fee for the first year for in-branch applicants, but Chase discontinued that offer in 2017.
However, Ink Preferred cardholders whose businesses have been affected by the novel coronavirus may be able to request an annual fee waiver through Chase’s Payment Assistance Program. Getting the Ink Preferred annual fee waived is not guaranteed, but there’s no harm in asking.
The Chase Ink Business Preferred annual fee is $95. Annual fees are common for business credit cards, as they help the issuer offset the cost of the card’s rewards and benefits. Aside from the $95 annual fee, there are a few other Chase Ink Business Preferred fees to keep in mind. The card has a $0 foreign transaction fee. But there are fees for cash advances and balance transfers. So try to steer clear of those transactions, if possible. And if you use the Chase Ink Business Preferred card responsibly, you’ll avoid fees for late payments.
You can submit a Chase Ink Preferred application online from the Chase website. Sign in to your Chase online account, if you already have one, or click the green “Apply as a Guest” button. Next, you will need to complete the Business Info section on the Chase Ink Preferred application. This includes the business structure (sole proprietorship, for example) along with the business’s legal name and number of employees. Your Tax ID or Employer ID number and annual business revenue are required, too. You will also have the option to add any employee cards to the account. Check the box at the bottom of the application to say that you agree to the card’s certifications, which state, among other things, that you will use the account for business purposes only and that you will be held personally liable for all balances charged to the account. Click the “Submit” button and you should receive a decision in just a few seconds. If you’re approved, you will receive your new card within 7-10 business days.
If you do not get an immediate decision, you’ll receive a status update e-mail within 7-10 days notifying you whether the application is approved, denied or pending. For pending applications, the e-mail will let you know if you need to submit additional documents or correct any missing or inaccurate information on the application. If the application is denied, Chase will mail you a letter detailing the reason(s) why.
