There are two ways to activate a Chase Sapphire Reserve® card: online and over the phone. To do it online, go to the Chase card verification page and enter your login information. If you don’t have a user ID and password yet, click “Sign up now.” Once you’re logged in, you’ll see an option to activate a new card. To activate Chase Sapphire Reserve by phone, call Chase at 1-888-489-7249 and enter your card number.
That’s the activation process, in general. But there are a few more specifics you should be aware of.
Here’s how to activate Chase Sapphire Reserve:
- Log into your account on the Chase activation webpage, or call 1-888-489-7249 and enter your card number when prompted. You may also be asked security questions to verify your identity.
- Your new card should arrive 7-10 business days after you’re approved for an account.
- You can begin using your Chase Sapphire Reserve Card immediately after activating it.
- If you don’t activate your card within 6 months, your account will be automatically closed.
- There are some reports online of people receiving pre-activated Sapphire Reserve cards. Such cards supposedly don’t have the standard sticker with activation instructions on them. If you receive a card with no sticker, you’ll want to call Chase customer service just to make sure it didn’t fall off or get left off by mistake.
Getting your Chase Sapphire Reserve activated is a simple process. You can do it online or over the phone, and it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes in either case.
