Citi Double Cash return protection is no longer available. The return protection benefit and several others were dropped for most Citi credit cards, including Double Cash, effective September 2019. The other dropped benefits include rental car insurance, trip cancellation and interruption protection, travel accident insurance, return protection, and extended warranties.
When it was available, Citi Double Cash return protection reimbursed you for working, undamaged items that you tried to return within 90 days of purchase but were not accepted by the merchant that originally sold them. Coverage applied only to items charged to the Double Cash card, up to $300 per item and $1,000 per calendar year.
Some credit cards that still offer a return protection benefit as of June 2020 include Bank of America Premium Rewards, Chase Sapphire Reserve and the Wells Fargo Propel American Express card.
