Yes, you can request credit card applications by mail. Some issuers will mail you credit card applications, but applying by mail is the worst option simply because it takes the longest. Instead of the issuer receiving your application immediately, you have to wait for it to physically travel to them. The quickest and one of the most convenient ways to apply is online. If you prefer submitting a physical application, visiting your nearest branch and applying in-person is faster than mailing your application.
You may also receive a pre-approved credit card offer in the mail. You can complete the application and return it by mail at the enclosed address, but issuers generally provide a code that you can use to apply online and flag your application. Just bear in mind that while a pre-approved offer indicates good odds of approval, it does not guarantee it.
To get pre-approved offers, you must opt-in to be contacted by third party advertisers with credit reporting bureaus. You can always choose to opt out of mailed and emailed credit card offers, though. Some issuers also allow you to check for pre-approval yourself.
