It usually takes about 10 business days to get a Credit One credit card once you’ve been approved. Make sure to activate your card quickly after you receive it, as Credit One may automatically close your account for security reasons if the card is not activated within 14 days of being received.
Here is an updated answer. Yes it COULD take a month to receive your card if your status shows APPROVED PENDING VERIFICATION. If you receive an APPLICATION APPROVED it should take about a week to have your card mailed out. I was pre approved 8/29. I was then approved 8/29. My status updates today to show that my card was mailed out today 9/6. So unless you get an upon pending status you will have your card mailed out in a week. Hope this helps!
It usually takes 14-24 business days to get a credit card, from the time you submit an application to when it arrives in the mail. But it’s possible to get a credit card in as little as a week if you apply online and request expedited delivery. Some issuers will even give you an account number to use for purchases before you receive your physical card. … read full answer
A lot depends on your credit standing, the card you pick and how you apply for it. Each credit card issuer has its own approval criteria and timelines, after all. But there are several steps you can take to speed things up.
Here’s how to get a credit card faster:
Get preapproved: If you’re interested in a card from a certain issuer, you can also see if they have a preapproval check. If you’re preapproved for a credit card, your instant approval chances increase quite a bit.
Apply online: Online applications are always best because they send your data to the issuer right away. You also have a chance of being approved instantly if your credit exceeds what the issuer is looking for. You could consider applying for credit cards that are a little below your own credit range if you want the best chance of instant approval. But it might be better to risk waiting a little longer to get a card with greater benefits.
Frequently check for approval: If you’re not approved or denied instantly, the credit card issuer needs more time to verify and evaluate your information. This could take a few weeks. But most credit card companies allow you to quickly check the status of your application online or over the phone.
Speed up delivery: In almost all cases, it’ll take 7-10 business days for your credit card to reach you. But many companies allow you to pay for expedited shipping or even pick up your card at a bank branch sooner. And some companies will let you get your number immediately. For example, by downloading the Capital One app, you can see the number and verification information for new cards right away, so you’re able to use them for online transactions.
A big part of getting a credit card is figuring out exactly which card to apply for. One way you can move through this more quickly is by signing up for a free WalletHub account. Based upon your credit, we’ll recommend cards you’re likely to be approved for.
Whichever card you choose, you should never have to wait more than a month to get a new credit card in your hand. But it’s natural to want a faster process. And you can have it. Just follow these steps, and you’ll have a better chance of making the total wait time closer to a week.
You can use a credit card before it arrives in the mail if it is an American Express credit card or one of a handful of other offers, including the Apple Credit Card, the Uber Credit Card, the Capital One Walmart Credit Card, the PayPal Credit Card, and some store credit cards. Normally, you can’t use a credit card without restriction before it arrives, because you can’t see the full credit card number, expiration date and CVV until you have the card in hand.… read full answer
If you need to start using a credit card today, you’ll likely want to consider applying for an American Express credit card. Amex is the only card issuer that will give out a full card number that can be used anywhere upon approval of an application. Capital One credit cards are also sometimes available for immediate use via the Capital One mobile app. But these cards won’t necessarily give you the credit card number, and your purchasing options may be limited.
Similarly, some credit cards that you can use before the actual card arrives - like the Walmart Credit Card and the Uber Credit Card - only allow you to add the card to a merchant-specific digital wallet. So you’ll only be able to use it with that merchant until the card arrives in the mail. Others, like the PayPal Credit Card, are more versatile because your credit line becomes available on your PayPal account – meaning you can use it to buy anything that accepts PayPal before your card comes in.
Lastly, it’s worth noting that you can ask a credit card issuer for expedited card delivery – in some cases, this will get the card to you the next day. Finding a card that you can use before it arrives in the mail might seem less important with that in mind.
You can check your Credit One application status online, by visiting the application status page on Credit One’s website and entering both your last name and Social Security Number. It can take up to 21 days to receive your final Credit One application status: approved or denied. Credit One credit cards are available to people with bad credit, but that doesn’t mean everyone gets approved. It all comes down to what Credit One makes of your credit history and income. If they think the risk of you not paying your bill is too high, you won’t be approved.
It should take 5 - 10 business days. If it takes longer, call Credit One Bank to check if the residence address you provided on your credit application is accurate.
