For those who aren’t familiar with Discover’s rotating bonus categories, this is how it works: Certain Discover cards offer a 5% cash back bonus for purchases at grocery stores and other spending categories that change every quarter. The 5% cash back bonus is limited to the first $1,500 spent in a specific quarter’s categories. Purchase amounts over the limit will earn 1% cash back. Cardholders must sign up for each new category to receive the cash back bonus.
Yes, HEB is considered a grocery store by Discover. When grocery stores are one of the Discover it Cash Back credit card's quarterly bonus categories, purchases made at HEB will earn 5% cash back, up to the quarterly spending limit. Costco accepts Discover cards, but only for online purchases at Costco.com. You can also use Mastercard and Visa cards when shopping at costco.com. Because Costco accepts Discover cards online, certain Discover cards may help you get extra value on your online purchases. In the past, Costco has been included in the “wholesale clubs” category, which gets extra rewards. Unfortunately, this feature is not available in 2022. It last ran in Q4 2018.
