Yes, there is a Discover – Amazon deal and their partnership has been ongoing, with several offers for a while now. The Discover it® Cash Back, for instance, offers bonus rewards on everyday purchases at different places each quarter, including Amazon.com. The current deal includes 5% cash back on the first $1,500 that you spend at select streaming services, including Amazon Music and Amazon Prime Video. This deal requires activation and it is available until March 31, 2023.

Here are Discover it’s Amazon deals:

Buy merchandise with rewards: Offer applies to most Discover cards. You can use your Discover rewards to "Shop with Points" on Amazon.com. All you need to do is link your eligible Discover card to your Amazon account, select Discover as your payment method and apply your Discover rewards. $1 in Discover cash back or 100 miles is equal to $1 at Amazon.

Get extra cash back: The Discover it Cash Back and the Discover it® Student Cash Back offer bonus rewards up to a certain amount in spending categories that change each quarter (activation required). And the bonus categories for 2023 include Amazon Music and Amazon Prime. More specifically, you get 5% cash back on the first $1,500 that you spend at Streaming Services during Q1 2023, with 1% back on any further purchases. Note that Amazon is not always a part of this deal. It just happens to be featured for one quarter, and could be featured again. Just make sure you activate your spending categories before making any purchases.

Finally, while Discover cards do provide some great Amazon opportunities, there’s another way to maximize your savings. The Amazon.com Store Card offers a $60 Amazon gift card upon approval and 5% back on Amazon.com purchases for Prime members. Additionally, the Amazon.com Credit Card offers a $50 Amazon.com gift card upon approval ($100 for Prime members). And Prime members earn 5 points / $1 (equivalent to 5% cash back) on purchases made at Amazon.com and Whole Foods Market.

As you can see, there’s a lot to like about Discover card promotions. The one thing you won’t see on any current Discover cards, though, is an initial bonus for spending a certain amount after you get the card. But Discover makes up for that by matching the first year’s rewards on all their cards.

There used to be another Discover card promotion called “Discover Deals,” where you could get extra discounts or bonus points for shopping with over 200 retailers in Discover’s online mall. Unfortunately, that program ended on October 31, 2018.
