You can still use your Discover it Student Cash Back credit card after graduation. Discover won’t close the account because you graduate. Instead, they will just upgrade your Discover it Student Cash Back card into a regular Discover it® Cash Back credit card.
Sure, you always have the option of cancelling the student card, but that can negatively impact your credit score.

If you want to graduate to a better credit card, you'll have to ask them. They will do a hard pull on your credit report and tell you if you are eligible. Or just apply online for your desired card and cancel your Discover it Student card.… read full answer

The Discover it Student chrome and the Discover it Student Cash Back cards are among the best in their class. They have a $0 annual fee, and you’ll get matching cash back at the end of the first year.
Where the cards differ is in their ongoing rewards on purchases. Discover it Student chrome gives 2% cash back at gas stations and restaurants (up to $1,000 spent each quarter combined), and 1% back on all other purchases. Discover it Student Cash Back gives 5% cash back on up to $1,500 spent per quarter in bonus categories (which change every quarter and require activation), and 1% back on all other purchases. Both of these cards are good options and give you a respectable $500+ credit limit.
