Yes, currently all new cardholders who purchase at least $1,000 in furniture or mattresses get access to a 0% APR for 24 months. However, the deal isn’t necessarily as good as it might seem. This is a deferred-interest offer, which means the card’s regular rate (26.99%) will retroactively apply to your full purchase amount if you’re late with a monthly bill payment or you don’t repay your full balance within 24 months. If that happens, it would be like the 0% rate never existed.
As a result, we recommend using a 0% card that’s not affiliated with a particular retailer. Such cards don’t use deferred interest. And if you decide to use the JCPenney Card, be sure to make timely payments.
