Yes, Ulta does have a credit card. It comes in two forms: Ulta Store Card that can only be used at Ulta and Ulta Credit Card that works everywhere. Both Ulta credit cards are issued by Comenity Bank and offer the same perks on Ulta purchases. This includes 20% off your first purchase. And neither charges an annual fee. But the Ulta Mastercard rewards you for purchases made elsewhere, too. It also requires a higher credit score than the store card, which you can get with fair credit.
Here’s what you’ll get from the Ulta credit cards:
Both cards get you 20% off your first Ulta purchase and 2 points per $1 spent at Ulta.
Nether card has an annual fee.
The Ulta Mastercard gives you 1 point for every $3 you spend elsewhere. It also has an initial bonus of 500 points for spending $500 outside of Ulta in the first 90 days.
You can apply for an Ulta credit card in-store at checkout or online. There’s only one application, so Comenity Bank decides whether you get the Mastercard or the store card.
It’s possible to get instantly approved in-store or online. If you’re approved in-store, you can use your account right away for a purchase. Customers approved online may also look up their account in-store before their card arrives. But you can’t make a purchase online before you get your card.
Points expire at the end of the quarter one year after you earned them. For example, if you earned points in January 2018, they would expire on March 31, 2019. The points you earn in a month show up within five business days of your statement closing.
You generally need good credit to get the Ulta Mastercard and fair credit to get the Ulta store card.
If you’re a frequent Ulta customer, getting an Ulta credit card could definitely be a good idea. But the Mastercard isn’t so great for other purchases. So it’s best to use a different rewards card for non-Ulta spending.
Yes, they actually have two rewards credit cards issued by Comenity Capital Bank, one of which is a Mastercard. They both offer 20% off your first purchase, they don’t charge any annual fees, and you get 2 points for every dollar spent there. In addition, the Mastercard gives you 1 point for every $3 spent outside their store.
Yeah, there is. You can see the banner for it near the cashier, and you can also apply for one there. If you're shopping there often, might as well get some rewards for it!
