The Amex EveryDay bonus is 10k points right now, not 25k. But they occasionally offer 15k bonus points instead. So that could be where some of the Amex EveryDay 25k confusion comes from: 10k + 15k = 25k. But you can’t combine the two bonus offers. It’s either or. And there’s no way to control which offer you’ll see when you go to apply. In fact, if you do see the 15k promotion, Amex warns that you might not get it again if you leave the page.
So, while there is no Amex EveryDay 25k bonus, you can get either 10,000 or 15,000 points for spending $1,000 in the first three months. And even if you aren’t offered the extra 5,000 points, it’s still worth learning the details of the Amex EveryDay bonuses.
Here’s what you need to know about the Amex EveryDay 25k bonus:
10,000-point bonus: You get 10,000 reward points when you spend $1,000 in purchases during your first three months with your new card.
15,000-point bonus: If you are presented with this offer, you get 15,000 reward points instead of 10,000. You earn the bonus by charging $1,000 in purchases to your Amex in the first three months of opening your account.
Other EveryDay rewards: You get 1 point for every dollar you spend on eligible purchases. You also get 2 points per dollar at grocery stores, up to $6,000 per year. And if you charge 20 or more purchases to your Amex EveryDay card in a given billing period, you get 20% cash back on what you paid.
So, although you won’t get 25,000 points when you sign up for Amex EveryDay, you can still get 10,000 points in your first three months. If you’re lucky, you can even get 15,000. These points don’t expire, and you can use them to pay for purchases at certain merchants, buy gift cards, book travel, or get a statement credit.
