The most straightforward way to find out if you're an authorized user on a credit card is to call the issuer of the credit card in question and ask them directly. You can find the number on the back of your credit card.

Typically, unless you and the other person applied for the credit card together, you do not have a joint account, you are probably only an authorized user.

With a joint account, both holders are equally and fully liable for making payments, so the lenders require both their income information and credit score upon application.
