The standard Discover it® Cash Back is Apple Pay-enabled, as is the Discover it® Miles. But there are six other Discover it cards that currently don’t work with Apple Pay. So it depends on which one you have or want to apply for.
To use Discover it® Cash Backor Discover it® Mileswith Apple Pay, you’ll also need a fairly new Apple device: iPhone 6 or newer, or an Apple Watch. Assuming you’ve got one, you’ll be able to link your credit card to your device and conveniently make purchases without pulling out your wallet. Using your card through Apple Pay won’t affect the rewards that you earn or cost you any extra money. But Apple Pay isn’t accepted at every store, so you should still carry your actual Discover it card.
Linking your Discover it card to your iPhone or Apple Watch is easy. We’ll explain how to do both below.
Here’s how to add Discover it to Apple Pay on your phone:
1. Open the “Wallet” app on your iPhone.
2. Tap the “+” sign.
3. Input your Discover it card details.
4. Submit your information and you’re all set.
If you want to make Discover it your default card, go to “Settings,” select “Wallet & Apple Pay,” tap “Default Card,” and choose Discover it from the list.
Here’s how to add Discover it to Apple Pay on an Apple Watch:
1. Open the “Apple Watch” app on your iPhone.
2. Select “Wallet & Apple Pay.”
3. Select “Add Credit or Debit Card.”
4. Enter your Discover it card details.
5. Submit your information and you’re done.
It’s also It’s also good to keep in mind that Discover cards are not the only credit cards that work with Apple Pay. Apple Pay is compatible with cards from over a thousand different issuers and banks in the U.S. alone. So you should shop around and see which card is right for you.
