No, there isn’t any Chase Sapphire Preferred authorized user fee. What's more is that you can add as many Chase Sapphire Preferred authorized users as you want. You’ll only be responsible for the $95 annual fee that comes with the card – the same fee you’d pay if you had no authorized users.
What to know about Chase Sapphire Preferred authorized users:
This is another reason why Chase Sapphire Preferred is considered a great rewards credit card. Other high-end rewards cards do have authorized user annual fees. They’re usually a lot lower than the main accountholder’s annual fee and help offset the cost of the rewards an authorized user might earn. But still, it’s not ideal. For example, the Chase Sapphire Reserve® has a $550 annual fee for the main accountholder and a $75 annual fee for each authorized user.
One downside to adding an authorized user is that you’re responsible for their purchases. However, if they behave irresponsibly, you can dispute the charges with Chase. In addition, authorized users take up some of your credit line, so keep an eye on your credit utilization. Adding an authorized user to Chase Sapphire Preferred is a big plus, though.
