The SPG Business Card 30,000 point signup bonus isn’t available right now. It was a limited time offer that expired on January 31, 2017. But the current SPG Business Card signup bonus isn’t too much less. You get 25,000 bonus Starpoints for spending $5,000 in the first three months your account is open. That’s worth up to 12 nights at a Starwood hotel.
The SPG Business Card also provides a lot of other rewards. For example, you get up to 5 points per $1 spent at Starwood hotels. You can find an overview of the top perks below.
Here’s what you get instead of the SPG Business Card 30,000 point bonus:
25,000 point initial bonus: Spend $5,000 in the first three months, and it’s yours.
5,000 point bonus: You get this when you transfer 20,000 points to an eligible frequent flyer program. The bonus points will appear in the account of the frequent flyer program. Eligible airlines include American Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, and Delta. You can find the full list of 35 airlines at the SPG website.
Up to 4x points: You get at least 4 points per $1 spent at participating Starwood and Marriott hotels. Amex gives you 2 Starpoints, and simply being an SPG member gets you another 2. You also get 1 point per $1 on all other card purchases.
Gold tier membership: Charging $30,000 or more to your SPG Business Card in a calendar year gets you SPG Gold status for one year. Gold members get benefits like free room upgrades and late check-out, when available. You also get 5 points per dollar at Starwood and Marriott hotels, instead of 4. You can earn this benefit every year, but it may take 12-16 weeks after you meet the spending requirement for your enrollment to start.
Even though you can’t get the SPG Business Card 30,000 point initial bonus anymore, the 25,000 point bonus is pretty close. And you can use your Starpoints to book stays at Starwood and Marriot hotels, or transfer them to the loyalty programs of Starwood’s partner airlines.
If you use your points for free hotel stays, you’ll need at least 2,000 Starpoints. That’s the starting price of a weekend night at a Category 1 property. If you’re transferring them to a frequent flyer program, you need at least 2,500 points.
