What PQP means for your United Explorer Card is "Premier Qualifying Points." This is a term United uses for qualification levels for the MileagePlus status. PQP are awarded based on the amount you spend with your United Explorer Card. More specifically, with this card, you earn 500 PQP for every $12,000 you spend on purchases, up to 1,000 PQP in a calendar year.

The more flights you take with United, and the more money you spend with your United Explorer Card, the higher your status level will go. The higher your MileagePlus status level is, the more benefits you will receive on United flights and the more you will save when you fly.
