The U.S. Bank Platinum does not offer rental car insurance. But there are other U.S. Bank cards that do have this benefit, which covers theft, damage, valid loss-of-use charges imposed by the rental company, administrative fees, and reasonable towing charges due to a covered theft or damage. Cardholders are covered up to up to the actual cash value of most rented cars.
To get coverage, a cardholder must pay for the rental entirely with an eligible U.S. Bank credit card or points. Examples of eligible cards include the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve Visa Infinite® Card.
If you’d like a credit card with rental car insurance, there are plenty of options outside of U.S. Bank, too.
