No, USAA does not offer price protection anymore, as this benefit was discontinued from all of its credit cards a while back. This is in line with most issuers, as only 6% of the credit cards from the 10 largest issuers continue to offer this benefit, according to our WalletHub Price Protection study.
In general, price protection gives eligible cardholders a refund for the difference in price within 60-120 days if an item they bought is available at a lower cost than what they paid for. While this benefit is no longer available, USAA credit cards still pack plenty of perks.
Alternative Credit Card Option for Price Protection
If price protection is important to you, then you should consider getting the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card, instead. Apart from its price protection benefit, this card offers 5% cash back on hotel and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, as well as 1.5% cash back on all other purchases. Plus, you can earn $200 for spending $500 in the first 3 months.
The Capital One Quicksilver Card’s annual fee is $0 and you need at least good credit for approval.
