The Walmart Credit Card bonus is 5 points per $1 spent on Walmart in-store purchases when using the card through the Walmart Pay app for the first 12 months. After that, cardholders will earn a reduced rate on all purchases at Walmart stores, but you’ll still get 5 points per $1 spent on Walmart.com orders charged to the card, including grocery pickup and delivery purchases. In addition, Walmart Credit Card users earn bonus points on travel and dining, as well as on gas purchases at Walmart and Murphy USA stations.
On that note, it’s worth pointing out that if you have the Walmart Store Card (as opposed to the Walmart Mastercard Credit Card), you can only use it for Walmart in-store and online purchases, at Sam’s Club stores and gas stations, and at Walmart and Murphy USA gas stations. So you’ll only earn bonus points for purchases at those specific retailers.
You can redeem Walmart Credit Card bonus points for 1 cent each in cash back during checkout either at Walmart.com or through the mobile app. When you check out, specify how much cash back you want to apply toward the purchase. That amount will be deducted from your balance and then credited to your account within 2-3 business days. Points are also redeemable at a penny apiece for cash back in the form of a check, or for gift cards, airfare, hotel stays and car rentals. Walmart Store Card points are not redeemable toward travel purchases.
