You get the most Amex EveryDay points value when you redeem for travel through the Amex Travel website. Each Amex EveryDay point is worth a penny that way. You can also redeem points for other spending categories on the American Express website, where each point will be worth between 0.5 and 1 cent.
Here’s how to get more Amex EveryDay points value:
- Uber and NYC taxis: 1 cent
- Gift cards: Up to 1 cent
- Amex travel: Up to 1 cent – Booking flights through the Amex travel website will get you the most value. The travel portal lets you book cruises, and hotels too. But all the options besides flights offer 0.5 cents or 0.7 cents a point.
- Charitable donation: Up to 1 cent
- Transfer points: up to 1+ cent(s) – Amex gives you the option of transferring your Amex EveryDay points to the loyalty programs of participating airlines and hotels. Each Amex EveryDay point is worth one airline mile, but those miles are worth differing dollar amounts.
- Amex retail partners: Up to 0.7 cents – You can pay with points at Seamless, Grubhub, Amazon, Best Buy, Staples, and other merchants when you use your Amex Everyday Card at checkout.
- Statement credit: 0.6 cents
- Tickets to Events: 0.5 cents
To get the most Amex EveryDay points value, you’ll want to steer clear of redemption options like statement credits and sports tickets. Luckily, there are a few different high value methods, so you can be flexible. And if you find the right flight through a partner airline, you won’t even be limited to the Amex travel portal.

It's about 1 cent per point. What matters is what you use'em for, that's what will change their actual value.
