Freedom Unlimited price protection used to refund the difference between the price paid for an item and a lower sale price found by the cardholder in the next 90 days. So it guaranteed the best price on items bought with the card. But that benefit is no longer available.
In case the Chase Freedom Unlimited price protection benefit ever comes back, it’s important to know the program’s rules and how to file a claim. There were some restrictions. The coverage level was up to $500 back per item and $2,500 per year. And the lower price must have appeared within 90 days of the original purchase. Ineligible items included motorized vehicles, cell phone contracts, pre-owned items, jewelry, antiques and a few others.
When Chase Freedom Unlimited price protection was still active, customers could file a claim by calling 1 (888) 320-9656 within 21 days of seeing a lower price. Then, they needed to fill out the claim form and return it within 45 days. They also needed to include items such as sales and credit card receipts, a copy of the advertisement, and any other requested information. If everything checked out, Chase reimbursed the price difference within 60 days of receiving the complete claim.
