Yes, Progressive does pay out claims when they are supposed to. You can file a claim or view your claim’s status by logging into your Progressive account online or by calling Progressive claims management at 1-800-776-4737.
There is reason for concern, however, as Progressive does not have the best reputation for customer satisfaction. Progressive ranked in the bottom 25% of car insurers in J.D. Power’s latest Auto Claims Satisfaction Study. Further, Progressive received a C grade from the 2021 CRASH Network survey of collision repair professionals—detailing the opinions of repair professionals who see how insurers handle the claims process.

Progressive also has a 1.70 rating from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), meaning it has received more complaints than the average car insurance provider, adjusted for size. NAIC considers 1.0 to be the industry average.
None of this means that Progressive is a bad company overall, but it does mean you should be careful when filing a car insurance claim with them.
