No, using Progressive roadside assistance does not count as a claim. Progressive customer service representatives state that their roadside assistance program is entirely separate from the claims process, and that any usage of their roadside assistance does not count as a claim.

Even though a roadside assistance call doesn’t count as a claim with most insurance companies, it still might affect your rates or show up on your insurance history with some insurers. The more you use your roadside assistance, the less reliable your vehicle seems, and that creates a red flag for some insurers that a real claim, like for an accident, is more likely.
