You can also file a formal complaint with your state's insurance department or Liberty Mutual's state insurance department (I think they are based out of Mass.) You can also file a complaint online with the Federal Trade Commission. I may be doing these because I was assured by them that an inquiry I made about coverage turned into a false claim. A claim according to them, but was never a claim. A few months ago, I had a blowout and they automatically assigned it a claim number. All I did was ask some questions in case my car was damaged during the blowout. They told me auto insurance didn't cover tires, rims, etc. During the call, the woman was putting words in my mouth saying I hit a rock, she assigned it a claim number. I told her she was putting words in my mouth and that I was not filing a claim. I was livid. I spoke to the adjuster and she assured me since I had no claim, it would be deleted and not on my driving history. I found out from another insurance company today that Liberty Mutual said I had a claim! It's not a claim unless money is paid and if I agreed I was filing a claim. There was no police report. I only needed tires and a wheel alignment. Don't trust them! I am now waiting for a call from administration. If they don't remove this false information, I am filing formal complaints. File your compalints. The BBB won't do anything, but the state insurance department and FTC will investigate and take your complaint seriously.
