Yes, Safeco covers formerly salvage-titled vehicles. If the car was rebuilt and inspected after being salvaged, Safeco offers full coverage insurance. You cannot get coverage from any reputable insurer for a car currently holding a salvage title, however, as such vehicles are illegal to drive.
A car is given a salvage title when an insurance company declares it a total loss, meaning that it is unable to be repaired or the cost of repairs exceeds the vehicle’s value. If the car is later repaired and deemed safe by an inspection, the salvage title will be replaced with a rebuilt title. After that, you can insure the car with Safeco.

In California it is legal to drive salvage vehicles, otherwise they would not have registered any of my two cars here. Laws on salvage or branded title vehicles vary by state but there are a lot of lies On the internet. State Farm just paid me over $33K for a salvage title vehicle I bought and partially fixed for $15k seven years and 70k miles ago. Several insurance companies including AAA have a non-advertised amendment that you can buy for which for a 50k car an $82 one time premium will get you a new car if there’s significant damage in the first year or first 15,000 miles whichever comes first. That means they are going to be totaling brand new vehicles with pretty minor damage. It’s a total bald faced lie to claim that salvage title vehicles will cost more to repair than they’re worth. Blanket statement is not based on fact. What’s worse is it appears that Liberty Mutual/Safeco is spreading these lies as you can see in the other answer. I just paid $49,000 for a $75,000 Mercedes Sprinter tall top 4x4 passenger van that they had insured that is so rare there’s none for sale in the whole United States right now. it only has 5500 miles and it’s a 2020. If you want this 4x4 tall top MB van the only other option is to get on the waiting list for a new one and maybe in 17 months you will have it, or maybe not.
