The main USAA NAIC number is 18600. USAA’s NAIC number is the five-digit code given by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), which assigns numbers to authorized insurance providers in order to track customer complaints and ethics violations across state lines.

With USAA’s NAIC number, anyone can learn more about the company’s financial data, the kinds of complaints that have been filed by customers, and any enforcement actions taken against the company. Customers will need USAA’s NAIC number to report fraud or file an insurance claim, as well.

Although the main USAA NAIC number is 18600, the NAIC has assigned a separate code for each of USAA’s affiliate companies, which are listed below. You can find the number that applies to your particular policy on your USAA insurance card.

Individuals eligible for USAA membership include active, retired, and honorably separated members of the U.S. military; cadets and midshipmen at U.S. service academies; and their eligible family members. Once someone becomes a USAA member, eligibility then extends to their family members (even if those family members aren’t in the military). For instance, if the child of someone who was a USAA member also joins USAA, that person’s spouse and kids are then eligible for membership as well. It can continue passing down that way. Eligibility does not extend to siblings or parents.

Does USAA offer extended warranties?

No, USAA does not offer extended car warranties anymore. USAA canceled its extended car warranty program in 2018, and it has not replaced extended warranty coverage with anything similar, such as mechanical breakdown insurance, either.
