To complete an auto insurance application you'll need your driver's license, vehicle registration, and social security number. It also helps if you have your current policy's information.

The easiest way to be prepared is to have your Current Auto Insurance Declarations Sheet and Drivers License. You will also want your current odometer reading and information about your use of your auto, including your commute.

If there are other individuals driving than you will need their driving records as well.

You may also wish to procure a "Letter of Experience" from your current carrier. This letter will stipulate your current insurers experience with you as a client.
