DFS/WEBBANK is short for “Dell Financial Services/WebBank.” If you see this on your credit report, it means you recently applied for a Dell Preferred Account. That’s the revolving line of credit offered by the computer company Dell. And WebBank manages all of Dell’s credit lines.
Here’s what DFS/WEBBANK means:
- DFS/WEBBANK means “Dell Financial Services/WEBBANK.” It represents a Dell Preferred Credit Account managed by WebBank.
- A Dell Preferred Account is a revolving line of credit that qualified applicants can use to purchase Dell computer products.
- The Dell Preferred Account offers a credit limit of up to $5,000 and has an APR of 18.99% - 29.99% (V), depending on your credit. It can also get you special discounts. There is no annual fee.
The only time you should be worried about seeing DFS/WEBBANK on your credit report is if you haven’t applied for or opened a Dell Preferred Account. In that case, your first step should be to call Dell Financial Services at 1-800-283-2210, to see if there’s been a mistake. If someone’s opened an account in your name, you can file a complaint with the FTC, contact your local authorities, and dispute the info with the credit bureaus.

It's there because you got the Dell Credit Card. I had the same dilemma and called them to confirm.
