They may be a legit company but that doesn't mean much in the US. Even their A rating doesn't mean anything except that they respond to complaints and that can mean you can just say “Thanks for your complaint” and they will consider it as you taking care of your business.
I have the credit card and I applied for the personal loan twice about over a year apart and the experience has been exactly the same.
Upgrade is horrible in communication, customer service and pretty much everything that you supposed to do in order to “qualify”.
First time I applied for the personal loan, they kept asking for more and more information and it just dragged out where I was instantly approved by their competitors for less APR so I withdrew the application. They gave me the credit card.
Credit card - I had billing issues sent an inquiry to their zen desk, I received a response back 5 months later. They take forever to update your payments on the cc and your CL
I applied again about 2 months ago and as it stands I am still waiting for the final approval after I was already pre-approved. No communication, no updates it just been sitting there waiting for the next steps. Again I applied with their competitor again about a week after doing Upgrade, I was approved and funded a week later for more and less interest.
I don't even have the desire to withdraw my application, I am just curious to see if they will sit on my application after I submitted all of my confidential and private information for over a year.
