You can avoid Citibank fees for monthly bank account maintenance with a qualifying direct deposit, bill payment or minimum balance. This applies to the Citibank Access Account and Basic Banking packages, including checking and savings accounts. You can find more specifics below.
To avoid Citibank fees, meet one of the following requirements
- Make 1 qualifying direct deposit per statement period.
- Make 1 qualifying bill payment per statement period.
- Maintain a combined average monthly balance of $1,500+ in eligible linked accounts.
- Be at least 62 years old or have a joint account with a minor (Basic Banking package only).
- Maintain a combined average monthly balance of $10,000+ in eligible linked deposit, retirement and investment accounts (Access Account package only).
Qualifying direct deposits include payroll, pension or government payments.
Qualifying bill payments are individual or recurring bill payments made through CitiPhone Banking, Citibank Online, CitiBusiness Online and Citi Mobile.
