Not necessarily, unless the bank requires it in order to maximize some of the features of the interest bearing account. Some banks do, so be aware, but other than that there is no inherent financial benefit.
That said, there may be a benefit to you that's not financial. If you ever have short- to medium-term savings goals, like for a vacation in six months, then many people like to have a separate "bucket" for that. It's easier to see progress against various goals by having different piles of money for them.
That's purely a procedural preference though.
