The minimum balance required to open a Wells Fargo Way2Save savings account is $25. That means you must deposit at least $25 by debit card, check, ACH transfer, money order, or cash with Wells Fargo in order to open a new Way2Save account, according to Wells Fargo customer service.

Once your account is open, the minimum balance required to avoid the $5 monthly maintenance fee is $300. In other words, as long as your balance at the close of each day is at least $300, you won’t have to pay a fee.
