Hi! I agree with Walter's advice and can add a few more thoughts. I still send checks by mail for gifts, rent, and some bills. I do a few things to help them get there safely. I DO trust the post office, and I mail all my stuff there. One thing I do, though, is to drive to the post office, park, and walk inside to mail my letters. I also put things in non-see-through envelopes. If the other person is expecting the check - like for the rent or some other reason - I check to see if they got it. Good luck to you!
The US Postal service is your best bet for a check. UPS and another carrier with signature requirement is an alternative if you do not trust the USPS.
