Hi! Good question – we all know that CHECKS can easily go through most mobile apps to most banks, but money orders are a little different. It looks like most banks allow checks AND money orders to be deposited through their individual bank mobile apps. Some banks don’t have that option quite yet, but it looks like banks are adding this service more and more, so if your bank doesn’t have it now, they may soon. So if, for example, you bank at Chase or Wells Fargo, you would download their app and then be able to deposit your checks and money orders right there on your smartphone. Hope this help. Best wishes to you and thanks for writing!

Today, most banks allow mobile check deposit of personal checks, business checks, money orders, treasury checks and more. As a general rule, any check you can deposit in-person at a local branch can be deposited via mobile check deposit using your bank's app. With mobile deposit, be sure you know your bank's check hold policy for mobile deposits. This varies significantly from bank to bank - some make funds available immediately; other hold the check for 2-7 business days. Other banks vary their mobile check deposit policies based on the customer relationship - how long you've banked there, the number and balances of accounts, etc. Best bet is to call, email or live chat the particular bank you plan to make the deposit and find out ahead of time so there isn't a surprise on the funds availability in the event you need access to the money right away.

And I gave you a thumbs down because most banks do not let you deposit money orders through the mobile app discover for one doesn't Wells Fargo does not I can go on

good afternoon! Just wanted to say if anyone decides to switch to Hometown Bank in Bedford the mobile app does not let you do mobile deposits for 6 months after your account is opened, and you are unable to deposit cash or checks at the ATMs. Made me have a flash back to when they were MAC machines!!??

Did we answer your question?
Chase app deposits checks not money orders
I have the Chase Mobile App. It's a convenient way for me to deposit checks into my account without going to my bank. Chase hasn't found a way for customers to deposit money orders online. I had read somewhere online the otherday that Chase customers could deposit money orders like they do with checks. I attempted to deposit a postal money order today. I took a pic of the front and back and added amount When I hit deposit I got a error message saying, This kind of check can't be deposited into ur account. Visit ur local Chase Branch. What a bummer
I gave you a thumbs down because that is a false statement I have Wells Fargo they don't take my orders.
