I recently opened an Ally Bank Interest Checking Account. This is the best checking account I have found. No monthly minimum, no minimum opening deposit, and no ATM fees. The customer service is top notch and they have live people all the time. The overdraft fee is only $9. I like being able to deposit checks from my smartphone or computer, that makes checks more convenient.

I was looking for a good online only bank to use. I looked around and found Ally bank. They are a great bank with no fees and fantastic features for online banking. Free checks, no monthly maintenance fees like some of the other banks have, they even give you free anti virus software for your pc when you sign up. No complaints at all.

I have been using Ally BANK for only a few months and am very happy with their services. The only thing I do feel needs improvement is their website. It is very simple, but the features are very limited and ,it is very difficult to navigate the website and find which area it is you are looking for (for example, finding my recent transactions even took me quite some time). Otherwise, I am very pleased with my choice to use Ally Bank.

I have used Ally for my checking account for 3 months. I thought it would be more complicated because it's all online but it's very easy. I have trouble staying organized and their website is easy to use. I have no overdrafts because I'm able to stay on top of my finances. I also get alerts to my email or phone. Ally has good customer service. I had to call about setting up direct deposit and I didn't wait very long to get it all straightened out.

I just got approved for an ally bank checking account and although it was a bit of a hassle to get it set up ( I could not figure out how or why I was or was not approved) but after I called their customer service line, that was very curteous and helpful, we got everything straightened out and I am very pleased with my service!

I have enjoyed using Ally Bank. My favorite is being able to chat with someone at any time. They have always answered my questions even when they are probably pretty easy. The overdraft fee is not bad compared to other banks. And I like that Ally does not charge you bank fees. Overall, they are a good bank and I will continue to bank with them.

I have an online only checking account with Ally bank. They have treated me very well and I couldn't complain about the service. They are online only so no local branch to do business with. But because they have no branch, they pass on those savings to the customer and they have no fees at all. The customer service is top notch. I would recommend it to someone looking for a checking account.

I switched to Ally Bank for both checking and savings a few years ago, around the time they were spun off from GMAC after the financial crisis. I don't regret that decision and till date, I'm satisfied with the experience of having them as my online banking solution. My banking needs are generally simple and an online bank meets my needs. If you are looking for low fees, excellent customer service, great online/mobile banking features etc. along with interest on your balance (although the rates are low due to the low interest environment, Ally is one of the top interest payers among the major banks) - I would recommend Ally!

After setting up a savings account which was online only. I decided to check out a checking account also. I went with Ally bank because a friend of mine used them and mentioned they had no fees of any kind which is amazing. Their mobile options for doing banking from the phone are top notch as well. I have no complaints with them at all.

I've been most impressed with my Ally Checking Account. I've been with Ally for just over a year as of now. I needed a trust account to manage my mom's final affairs with her death and selling of her house. The process couldn't have been easier. I was able to sign up online. All the necessary forms were promptly mailed to me. Within about a week or so, give or take a few days, I had the trust account and we were ready to sell the house.

Over the past year I've been able to use any ATM I've needed anywhere. Ally just refunds me any fees charged by the other banks. That has been awesome. I did have a problem at one vendor accepting the check, because they had never heard of Ally bank, so they thought I had made it all up. (Vendors fault, not Ally's).

The online access has been consistent, and their App is always working and simple to use.

There customer service has also been great. I've had to call to replace a debit card and there were no issues. My card was reissued and to me within the week. I also needed a signed letter from Ally confirming that a bill had been paid, and they emailed it to me within 24 hours plus sent out a hard copy. Once again, this wasn't Ally's issue, but they resolved it for me anyway.

Overall, I've just been thrilled with Ally and will be relocating all my accounts to them in the near future.

I've had an Ally checking account for quite some time now. I prefer to have an online only bank account for various reasons. The ability to deposit checks from my phone by snapping a pic is just super convenient. They have great customer service and there have been no problems at all with the account for me. There's also no monthly fees with the account so that is a huge plus as well.

I opened an account with Ally after they picked up my mortgage on my home. The checking features they offer compared to my old bank really make my life easier. With no monthly minimum, I am free to use my checking account to its full extent if need be, and mobile deposit has been a lifesaver on more than one occasion. Remember that they're online only, so if you really need a branch location you may want to look elsewhere, but the convenience of their service offerings on the account allows me to perform the actions I would normally go to a branch for anyway!

Ally bank is a pretty unique bank, perfectly equipped for the digital nomad. If you own any type of online business, I highly recommend this bank. I have several accounts linked to my Ally account, Mturk, Paypal, CitiBank, etc. It makes managing all of that much simpler. It also helps keep my wallet lightweight by channeling all my funds into my Ally debit card.

I love my Ally account! I switched from another bank that had so many fees and it was always a hassle to deal with them. Ever since I got Ally I have noticed how easy they have made everything to use. I don't have nearly as many fees as I used to so it is saving me money whenever I use this in comparison to my old account. I can't imagine switching back to any other bank after the wonderful service that I've had. I am going to open up other accounts will Ally now that I am convinced that they are the best bank around.

I needed a good bank with the best online features. Depositing checks by going to a local branch had become a huge hassle, and because of my schedule I just didn't have time to stand in line for a teller. A friend recommended Ally bank and after I saw them use the mobile app to deposit a check I switched immediately. No fees of any kind, great online features for banking. You really can't go wrong with them.

Because of my career I prefer to use online banking now a days. It's just far more convenient to me to deposit checks from my smartphone and not have to go into a local branch to do it. I prefer a good credit union if I do need to go into a branch, but for all other banking, I use Ally bank for my main checking account purposes. It's an online only bank but they have great features. They reimburse you for all ATM fees, and no other fees associated with the account, which is just amazing. You really can't go wrong with them.

There are no ATM fees, and if you do get charged an ATM fee they will reimburse you. You get free checks and a free debit card after you make an initial deposit. You can also deposit checks with your smart phone. The overdraft fee is only nine dollars. Online bill paying and money transfer is free as well.

I tend to move around a lot and was looking for a good checking account with good online features. Mainly just the ability to scan a check with my phone and have it deposited. Well I found out about Ally and gave them a shot. So far everything has been good, I haven't had to contact their customer service as I've had no problems. But there's no fees, and no issues to speak of, so that's saying a lot!

Ally's checking account is pretty awesome so far. I have had very few issues with my account so far. The only issues I see are that it takes many days to transfer funds. A wire can take up two weeks at a time. Hopefully in the future they work on this issue but so far things have been great!

I've been a member of a credit union for quite some time, but I also needed a checking account with great online features for mobile banking. I checked out Ally Bank for an online checking account. It's been perfect for my needs. No silly monthly fees or hidden charges that other banks like to sneak up on you with. There's no local branch so they can pass the savings on to the customers. Customer service is about as good as can be expected. I had no problems with them. Overall I've been quite satisfied with the service.

Considering everything, I really can't complain about Ally. They truly are an Ally to you. I opened an account after I had a dispute with my former bank about a overdraft fee, and they wouldn't budge, so I budged right on out the door, to a bank that doesn't have doors. Something I didn't even know existed at the time. But the fact that they don't have any branches is the exact reason that they can afford to not charge for ATM fees, which they reimburse you for, and no monthly fees. The only issue i've had with them so far is that it took more than 10 business days to receive my ATM card. And if your in the know, 10 business days is alot longer than 10 days. My 10 days had a holiday thrown in so it added to the time. They should have an option where you could have your card UPS'd to you if you pay for it. I got to the point where I was getting pretty mad. Everyday I got home from work, NOPE no card yet. It was just frustrating the whole process of getting your debit card. But since then not a single issue. I would highly recommend ALLY to anyone.

With an Ally Bank Checking Account I have had no problems what so ever. I was looking for an online checking account I could use. This fit the bill perfectly. I have had zero problems with them since I became a member and I highly recommend this bank to people who don't need a local branch to visit to deal with banking. NO fees of any kind, I believe there's a overdraft fee, but as long as you are responsible with your statement, that shouldn't be a problem.

I have a checking account with Ally and I love it because there are no fees. Though the process for getting one was simple, I had a bit of trouble actually receiving my debit card in the mail. After I hadn't received it (and thus could not use my money) for two weeks, I called up customer service. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was nearly immediately matched with a customer service representative, who checked my account and asked if there was a better address they could send my card to. I gave them my work address -- problem solved! I received my card shortly!

When I was looking for a local bank for a good checking account I found it so hard to find one. All the checking accounts I found had horrible hidden fees and minimum balance requirements. So eventually a friend recommended Ally bank to me and I was able to sign up. I've been very satisfied with their service. I love the fact that there is no required minimum account balance and how they do not give stupid fees like many other banks do. They sent me over one hundred free checks and they were very fast to deliver my debit card. I am very happy with this bank and love having a checking account with them.

My Ally bank account has by far been the best bank account I have ever had. The little inconvenience that comes with not having a brick and mortar storefront (and I mean very little) are vastly made up for by their excellent customer service, lack of fees, and the general way they conduct business. Actually, since I've had an account there, I really haven't missed or needed a brick and mortar bank at all. Check cashing through their mobile phone app is fast, easy and safe, and you can use any ATM you want. If you use one that charges a fee of any kind, Ally will REIMBURSE you. Unheard of! The only negative thing I will say is that they did hold back a fifty dollar personal check (cashed through mobile app) for five days because of "excessive overdrafts". But, I had only overdrawn once. Oh well, no biggie considering all the things they do right that most banks do wrong.

I have nothing but good things to say about Ally Bank's Checking account. I've been with them for some time now and have always been satisfied. They're a great organization to have a checking account with.

It's easy to sign up for, they're very nice, normal interest, zero monthly fees, and free checks! I can't stand how some banks/credit unions will charge you for checks. Not only this but they'll reimburse you for ATM fees from outside network ATMs.

How's that for customer service? You won't find a better checking account.

I had started using Ally as I needed to use their mobile app to check my account in real-time. Opening up an account is easy and they have great customer service. They also offer decent rates for checking with no minimum to open. Their website is easy to navigate and online billpay is just so easy to use. No ATM fees is a bonus. I recently switched to Ally because I needed something to better fit my needs from what I was previously using. I love using the mobile app to check my balance on the go and to also upload any checks I might need deposited. The "Bill Pay" is another great feature that is very convenient. I've chatted with their customer service only once so far and they were very helpful and ready to help me with what I needed. The interest rates are also a nice bonus, but it's not something I really considered when I opened the account. Great bank that I'd recommend to anyone!

Recently started using Ally as my primary bank. I got a checking account with them and the debit card was mailed out pretty quick. They're the only place I've seen to pay you back for using a non-ally ATM. I tested this out and sure enough the compensated me for the out of network charge. This works out nicely for me because there isn't a nearby Ally bank. The closest one would be in Atlanta which is about an hour or so drive from here.

I have used ally for years now. The only problem was, when I got married and changed and changed my last name, in order to withdraw funds into a checking account under my new last name, I am having to jump through tons of hoops. They have the best interest rates on simple savings accounts around.

Ally is a great alternative to regular banking institutions , but beware of the challenges that accompany it. It's very hard to deposit money, and you aren't allowed to deposit cash anywhere. It seems like that wouldn't be a big deal, except it's funny how often it seems to come up once you've made the switch. Overall though, wonderful bank, and get services. Great interest rates, and I would highly recommend them.

I think that Ally has the best interest rates on the Internet. I cant find better with what they offer. You get a free Visa check card and checks if you want them. They provide great security and theft protection. I called and talked to a rep about their security online. I ask what would happen if my account gets hacked and money stolen, and they assured me that they would reimburse me if that happens. The rep was very knowledgeable and knew the policies and procedures well. It is a great online bank. No problems here.

The most serious issue I have had lately with this bank is the signature card . Don't get me wrong it is a great idea , especially If you sign up and open your account online or over the phone as I did when there aren't any branches in my state . My issue with this is the fact that I sent them my signature card , now I have two accounts that I opened at the same time one is for my two year old who is disabled and gets SSI payments . They told me that I didn't need a signature card for that account when I had called to find out why only one was sent to me . Last week , 5 months later I received a letter in the mail saying they were going to charge me 26% interest on the account because I didn't send in her signature card . I really think they need to train there reps better , and I still have yet to figure out what is going on...
